Right, I know we all hate rules but they are necessary. They ensure that people on this site are behaving civilly to one another and fairly. 'The Digital Portal' will be shortened to The DigiPort several times in this thread.
General Rules
These rules should be acknowledged throughout the site, including the roleplaying boards.
Roleplaying Rules
These rules are to be followed when in the roleplaying boards.
Character Rules
These rules refer only to the creation of profiles and characters.
More rules may be added at the staff's discretion. If you have any problems please contact a staff member.

General Rules
These rules should be acknowledged throughout the site, including the roleplaying boards.
1) Discrimination
We at The DigiPort will not tolerate discrimination under any circumstances aside from in character roleplaying - and even then not too far. Any kind of sexism, racism and all the other -ism's will not be accepted. 'Flaming' and 'trolling' (criticising/insulting just to be cruel) will not ever be acceptable. Disobeying this rule will earn you one warning and then an instant and permanent ban.
If you feel you are being discriminated against, be it by another member or a member of staff, please PM a different member of staff and we will do our best to sort it out. You may remain anonymous if you wish.
2) Spam
Spam. It's irritating and pointless. Spamming is when you fill up the boards (or the cbox) with irrelevant or overly random topics. Feel free to have fun and play some games, talk about music or whatever you like to talk about, but do not post twenty threads all declaring that you love My Chemical Romance or something. These threads will be deleted.
3) Respect
Respect is paramount here at The DigiPort. Not only for the admins and mods, but for each other. It ties in with the no discrimination; respect each other and each other’s feelings. Use your manners and try not to be rude.
Roleplaying Rules
These rules are to be followed when in the roleplaying boards.
1) Absolutely no godmoding or powerplaying! Godmoding is when you take control of somebody elses character, for example:John writes:
John ran through the city as fast as he could. He ran straight into Luke and knocked Luke over.
"Sorry!" He gasped, holding his side.
"That's okay," Luke grinned.
Here, John does quite a lot of godmoding. Most obviously, he makes Luke's character speak. However, he also bumps into Luke and knocks him over - he can bump into him, but Luke's RP-er gets to decide if he falls down.
Powerplaying is often mistaken to be the same thing as godmoding. Powerplaying is actually where you make your character unhittable or invincible. Example:Luke writes:
When John swung at him, Luke dodged easily. The cops around them got out their guns and all fired at Luke, tons of bullets racing towards him. Luke avoided them all with ease, backflipping, rolling and walljumping. There wasn't a scratch on him.
This is unbelievable; if Luke dodges one or maybe a few bullets, that's fine. But he's dodged every single one. That is very unrealistic, and we request a level of realism here - when you are roleplaying, keep this in mind.
2) No one liners!
As we are an intermediate roleplay site, we have a certain degree of tolerance. However, one liners are absolutely unacceptable - they are difficult to respond to for even the most seasoned roleplayer.
We expect a minimum of 75-100 words, which is around two paragraphs of six lines each. If you can do more, then that is great.
Having 'no muse' is not an acceptable excuse for one liners. If you have no muse, then do not post at all until you think of something.
3) Time and place;
In regards to roleplays, you cannot be in more than one place at the same time. You may be in more than one roleplay, but make sure that they are not taking place at the same time as each other. Roleplaying is like storytelling; it must have flow.
Character Rules
These rules refer only to the creation of profiles and characters.
1) Profiles
New members have one week to complete their profiles otherwise they will be deleted.
2) Roleplay only when accepted!
It's simple; after you have posted your profile up into the board, you must wait until it has been reviewed and accepted by a mod. You may then start to roleplay.
3) Number of characters
Only make as many characters as you can handle. If you can handle twenty then fine, but if you can only cope with one then stick to one. We don't like to see hundreds of unused characters floating around the site. Keep in mind that you must make a new account for each character.
Also, if you plan to make more than one character, spread them out amongst the groups; don't have them all ‘DigiDestined’. We need some virus minions and non-DigiDestined humans too.
4) Regarding relationships
Lots of people like a bit of romance when they roleplay. Homosexual relationships are allowed but both must be at least over thirteen to be in.
5) Names
This is not really a rule, more advice. All characters, except for Digimon have both a name and a surname.
6) Character history progression
As the site progresses, so will your characters. Every time something happens to your character, add it to your profile. Just simply explain to a member of staff why you want to have your profile unlocked, and then they will do it for you. Once you have added what you want, tell a staff member and they will lock the profile.
More rules may be added at the staff's discretion. If you have any problems please contact a staff member.
