In the year 2000, six children known as the Digi-Destined entered the Digital World with their Digimon by their side. Once inside they faced a powerful Digimon that threatened not only the DigiWorld but the human world as well. The Digi-Destined fought the evil Digimon yet he still grew in power for reasons unknown to the Six. When the answer finally arose they realized it was their worst fear, for the Digimon had somehow infused its own digital code with that of the Digital World. It became unstoppable as it wielded the full powers of the DigiWorld, not even the Digi-Destined were a match for it.
However with the discovery of an ancient terminal in the DigiWorld the key to victory was revealed. But alas it came at a price for the only way to defeat the evil Digimon was by removing its source of power, the Digital World itself. The terminal could purge the DigiWorld of the Digimon's Virus but would have to scramble all the digital code to remove it, meaning the shutdown of the Digital World. It was a grim choice but the DigiWorld was already lost and the Human world was next. They made the choice and quickly planned how to carry the task out. The plan was simple, distract the evil Digimon and get to the terminal before getting the heck out. Five of them faced their foe while the last went to the terminal and began the process but a simple task is never as simple as you'd think. The virus Digimon forced them out of the DigiWorld and closed off any way in or out. Unknown to him however, the last Digi-Destined had been in the terminal and was still in the DigiWorld. Even with the knowledge that if he purged the DigiWorld then he'd be stuck or worse the last Digi-Destined activated the program and within a minute it was gone. The Digital World was gone, the Digimon were gone, the Virus was gone but so was Sigmund "Ziggy" Beauregard, the last of the original Digi-Destined.
Time passed, weeks turned into months and months turned into years. The remaining Digi-Destined had lost their Digimon with the DigiWorld and grew up. There was no sign of the Digital World and soon it was forgotten. But then in 2010 a massive energy signal appeared for less than a second but it was felt all over the world. At first nothing else happened but then kids all over the world started getting a mysterious E-mail. If the E-mail was accepted, then four items materialized out of the computer. These were a DigiEgg, a pendent of sorts, a D-Terminal and lastly a Digivice known as a D-Processor. Small Digimon soon hatch from the Eggs, briefly explaining the events within the Digital World. With this secret knowledge, the children soon began the Digital World, assuming the title of DigiDestined. however none had a clue as to what was going on and everything about the past Digital World is blurred and unknown....except for one.
Ten years passed by in a second to Ziggy Beauregard and awoke to find the Digital World whole once again. He knows what happened and about everything going on in the Digital World – he was the one who had sent the E-mails in an effort to rally more Digi-Destined to fight the Virus and end the ten year long mission. But the Virus has a trick up its sleeve. It has managed to store a tiny data piece inside children, whose hearts are as black as its own and children who feel like they can’t trust anyone. Meanwhile, Pendulum, a group of government officers working with civilians are investigating the Digimon phenomena, capturing and experimenting on Digimon.
The situation looks grim and it seems like the Digi-Destined of the world have their work cut out, but they are determined to succeed, for the future of both worlds depends on them if the Virus isn’t stopped...
